The Security Tech Position

Being a Security Tech at MMR Group involves a dynamic and engaging work environment where no two days are the same. Security Techs are responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security systems, including IP cameras and access control systems. You’ll work on varied projects, from high-rise buildings in downtown San Francisco to sprawling campuses in the Silicon Valley. Core Security Tech Responsibilities

As a Security Tech, you will:

• Install and configure advanced IP camera systems and sophisticated access control systems.
• Terminate and test low voltage cabling, ensuring robust connectivity.
• Program and calibrate advanced access devices to meet specific security requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive system connectivity tests and troubleshoot any anomalies.
• Maintain detailed installation logs and documentation for each project.
• Liaise directly with clients to demonstrate system functionalities and ensure satisfaction.
• Engage in advanced technical duties such as configuring integrated security software, performing firmware updates, and managing network security protocols.
• Work on regional projects, including high-security facilities in Silicon Valley and tech campuses in the Bay Area.
• Adhere to stringent safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines.

Required Experience & Skills

To be considered for the Security Tech position, applicants must possess:

• A minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience as a Security Tech.
• Proven experience in installing and configuring security systems.
• Familiarity with cable termination tools and techniques.
• Understanding of basic networking protocols and IP camera systems.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Effective customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Essential certifications such as CompTIA Network+, BICSI, or equivalent.
• In-depth technical knowledge of security system software and hardware.

Tools & Equipment

Our Security Techs use a variety of tools daily, including:

• Personal tools such as wire strippers, crimping tools, and multimeters.
