Position Overview

The Residential Journeyman Electrician at MMR Group in Norfolk, VA, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential settings. This role requires strong technical skills, a dedication to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure that electrical systems meet quality standards and comply with local regulations.

Essential Functions

• Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in residential buildings.
• Perform routine maintenance on electrical panels, outlets, and lighting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Collaborate with other trades and contractors on residential projects.
• Interpret electrical blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Maintain compliance with NEC, local codes, and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications

• 4-8 years of electrical experience in residential environments.
• Valid electrical license for VA.
• Completion of relevant certifications and training programs.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certifications in specialized areas, such as solar installations or energy efficiency.
• Experience with residential automation systems.
• Proficiency with electrical software and tools, such as circuit analyzers.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Norfolk, VA.
• Service area includes the surrounding metropolitan area.
• Schedule: Full-time, with potential for overtime and emergency call-outs.
• Travel requirements: Occasional travel to job sites within the service area.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $34.3-$49.21 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
