Position Overview at 3D Communications
The Cable Technician position at 3D Communications is centered around supporting healthcare facility projects in Norfolk, VA, and neighboring cities. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cable systems to ensure reliable and efficient communication networks. The technician will work closely with project managers and other team members to deliver projects on time and within scope.
Essential Functions for Cable Technician
- Install, maintain, and repair cable systems, including network and communication lines, primarily in healthcare facilities.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal cable routing and installation methods.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Utilize various tools and equipment to test, troubleshoot, and resolve cable system issues.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
Required Qualifications for Cable Technician at 3D Communications
- 2-5 years of experience in cable installation and maintenance.
- Required certification: OSHA 10.
- Proficiency with Cable Management Systems and Wire Mapping Tools.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification: BICSI Installer 2.
- Advanced experience with Cable Management Systems.
- Specialized experience in healthcare facility projects.
- Proficiency with tools such as cable testers, crimping tools, and fusion splicers.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Norfolk, VA.
- Additional locations: Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News.
- Schedule: Full-time position with occasional weekend and evening shifts based on project requirements.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $27.13-$32.28 per hour.
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
