Job Description:
Position: Voice & Data Installer Location: Boise, ID Company: McEnroe Voice & Data
McEnroe Voice & Data, a leading provider of commercial electrical services, is seeking a skilled Voice & Data Installer to join our team. This role will primarily involve the installation of voice and data systems in new construction office buildings and hospitals in Boise, ID, and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain voice and data communication systems, including fiber optics and copper cable infrastructure.
- Perform termination and testing of new cabling.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain network hardware and software components as needed.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues and recommend proactive solutions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment.
- Coordinate with project managers and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within the specified budget.
- Provide excellent service to all clients, ensuring their communication needs are met.
Required Qualifications and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, installing and maintaining voice and data systems.
- Knowledge of industry standards and city codes.
- BICSI Certification preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Tools and Equipment Knowledge:
Candidates should be familiar with the use of standard tools and equipment related to voice and data system installation, including but not limited to punch down tools, cable verifiers and certifiers, fiber optic termination equipment, and conduit benders.
Safety Requirements and Protocols:
The Voice & Data Installer is expected to adhere to all company and site-specific safety protocols. This includes proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), adherence to lockout/tagout procedures, and compliance with OSHA standards.
