Commercial Electrician at Encore Electric

As a Commercial Electrician with Encore Electric, you will perform electrical installations, maintenance, and upgrades for commercial projects in Boulder and surrounding North Denver areas. This role requires expertise in electrical systems, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and apprentices to complete projects efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for commercial buildings, including:
  • Power distribution systems.
  • Lighting and controls systems (LED retrofits, dimmers, smart lighting).
  • Electrical panels, breakers, and transformers.
  • Conduits, wiring, and cable management systems.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, including OSHA standards and Encore Electric policies.
• Work on various commercial sites, including retail centers, office buildings, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and assist in their training.

Required Qualifications

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician license issued by DORA (Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies).
  • If not licensed, candidates must be registered as an Electrical Apprentice with DORA and actively working toward licensure.

• Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial electrical work.
  • Proven experience with power systems, panel installations, and conduit bending.

• Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to interpret and apply local codes specific to Boulder and surrounding cities.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.

Tools & Equipment Expertise

• Conduit bending tools (hydraulic and manual).
• Wire pullers, strippers, and crimpers.
• Power tools (drills, saws, and impact drivers).
• Multimeters and circuit testers.
• Ladders, lifts, and scaffolding.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmets, and safety glasses.

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience with advanced energy systems, such as solar or EV charging stations.
• Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
