Overview of Heavy Industrial Project Manager Role
As a Heavy Industrial Project Manager at IES Electric, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing large-scale industrial projects. This position requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of electrical systems and project management. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Essential Functions
- Project Management: Lead and manage industrial electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring all project objectives are met.
- Budgeting and Estimation: Utilize estimating tools to prepare and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial efficiency.
- Code Compliance: Perform code analysis to ensure all projects comply with relevant electrical codes and standards.
- Design and Planning: Collaborate with design teams to develop comprehensive project plans using advanced design software.
- Team Leadership: Direct and motivate project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control procedures to maintain high standards in project delivery.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the electrical industry, particularly in industrial settings.
- Licensing: Must hold a valid electrical license for the state of Arizona.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with estimating tools and code analysis is required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including working in various industrial environments.
- Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to enforce them on-site.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: IPMA certification is highly desirable.
- Design Expertise: Experience with design software to assist in project planning and execution.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience managing industrial projects, preferably in manufacturing plants, data centers, or processing facilities.

- Schedule: This is a full-time position, requiring flexibility to meet project demands and deadlines.

- Pay Range: Competitive hourly rate ranging from $36.19 to $43.74 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
