Position Overview

The Healthcare Journeyman Electrician at IES Electric will play a critical role in supporting our commercial projects, specifically within healthcare settings. This position requires a skilled professional who can perform a wide range of electrical tasks, ensuring safety and efficiency in all operations. The successful candidate will have experience working in commercial environments and a proven ability to handle the complexities of healthcare facilities.

Essential Functions

• Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in commercial settings, with a focus on healthcare facilities.
• Collaborate with project managers and other trades to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Utilize advanced test equipment to diagnose and address electrical issues.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including confined space and arc flash safety procedures.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on the latest electrical technologies and safety practices.

Required Qualifications

• 4-8 years of electrical experience in commercial environments.
• Valid electrical license for the state of California.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and the use of advanced test equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Arc Flash Safety.
• Familiarity with code books and the ability to interpret complex electrical codes.
• Prior experience working on commercial projects, especially in healthcare settings.

• Primary location: San Diego, CA.
• Neighboring cities include Chula Vista, La Mesa, El Cajon, and National City.
• Schedule: Full-time, with potential for overtime based on project needs.
