Overview of Custom Home Apprentice Electrician Role

As a Custom Home Apprentice Electrician at Howell Electric, you will play a vital role in supporting our experienced electricians on residential projects. Essential Functions

• Assist journeyman and master electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential settings.
• Learn to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to understand wiring layouts and project specifications.
• Utilize power tools and basic test equipment to perform tasks under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Participate in conduit bending and installation, gaining proficiency with different types of bends and materials.
• Support the team in wiring custom homes, multi-family residences, and remodels, ensuring compliance with local electrical codes and standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

Required Qualifications

• 0-2 years of electrical experience, preferably in a residential setting.
• Valid electrical license for the state of California.
• Proficiency in using power tools and basic test equipment, with a strong commitment to safety.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• Knowledge of basic electrical safety practices and willingness to adhere to all safety guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification, demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety.
• Experience with conduit bending, including the use of hand and hydraulic benders.
• Previous experience working on residential projects, particularly custom homes and remodels.
