Overview of Custom Home Apprentice Electrician Role
As a Custom Home Apprentice Electrician at Howell Electric, you will play a vital role in supporting our experienced electricians on residential projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain hands-on experience in the electrical trade while working on high-end custom homes and other residential projects. Essential Functions
- Assist journeyman and master electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential settings.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to understand wiring layouts and project specifications.
- Utilize power tools and basic test equipment to perform tasks under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Participate in conduit bending and installation, gaining proficiency with different types of bends and materials.
- Support the team in wiring custom homes, multi-family residences, and remodels, ensuring compliance with local electrical codes and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years of electrical experience, preferably in a residential setting.
- Valid electrical license for the state of California.
- Proficiency in using power tools and basic test equipment, with a strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Knowledge of basic electrical safety practices and willingness to adhere to all safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification, demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety.
- Experience with conduit bending, including the use of hand and hydraulic benders.
- Previous experience working on residential projects, particularly custom homes and remodels.

- Schedule: Full-time, with the potential for overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
