Overview of Commercial Cable Tech Role
The Commercial Cable Tech position at Helix Electric entails working in a dynamic commercial environment, where you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing cable systems for various commercial projects. Requirements for Commercial Cable Tech
Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects
- Install, maintain, and repair cable systems in commercial settings such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
- Conduct troubleshooting and testing of cable systems using specialized equipment like Fiber Splicers (Fujikura) and OTDR Testing Equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely project completion and adherence to safety standards.
- Document and report on project progress and any issues encountered during installations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations.
Required Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- First Aid/CPR Certification
Experience and Skills
- 3-5 years of electrical experience, particularly in commercial settings.
- Valid electrical license for the state of Kentucky.
- Proficiency in using Fiber Splicers (Fujikura) and OTDR Testing Equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
- Capability to work in various environments and conditions, including confined spaces and heights.
Safety Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of safety standards and practices in commercial electrical work.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience with First Aid/CPR.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial project environments.
Location & Schedule
- Primary Location: Louisville, KY
- Neighboring Cities: Jeffersonville, Clarksville, New Albany, and Shively in Kentucky.
- Schedule: Full-time position, with potential for overtime based on project needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $22.65 - $26.06 per hour, commensurate with experience.
