Controls Engineer at Crosby Electric

Crosby Electric is currently seeking an experienced Safety Controls Engineer to join our team in Sacramento, California. The ideal candidate will be proficient in machine safety systems, safety PLCs such as Allen-Bradley GuardLogix and Siemens F-CPU, and risk assessment. This role requires an individual with TÜV Functional Safety Engineer certification, OSHA-30, and Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) credentials. In-depth knowledge and understanding of ISO 13849/IEC 62061 standards, safety system design, and safety network protocols such as CIP Safety and PROFIsafe are crucial. Proficiency in Sistema calculations, safety circuit design, and robot safety systems is also a must. The role demands 40-70% travel for safety system validation and compliance assessments.

Required Experience

The successful candidate should have:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Controls Engineer or in a similar role
• Expertise in machine safety systems and safety PLCs
• Experience with risk assessment and safety system validation
• Familiarity with CIP Safety, PROFIsafe, and other safety network protocols
• Proficiency in Sistema calculations and safety circuit design
• Experience with robot safety systems

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications will be considered an advantage:

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with industrial robot systems
• Prior experience in a safety-related role within the manufacturing industry

Certifications and Licenses

Salary and Benefits
