Position Overview at Convergint
The Fire Alarm Tech position based in Mission Viejo, CA, involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems primarily for educational institutions. The role requires collaboration with clients and project teams to ensure timely and effective service delivery. The technician will operate across Mission Viejo and the surrounding cities, ensuring educational facilities maintain compliance with fire safety regulations.
Essential Functions for Fire Alarm Tech
- Install, test, and maintain fire alarm systems in educational institutions.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot system components to ensure functionality.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate service records.
- Assist in the design and planning of fire alarm systems for new educational projects.
Required Qualifications for Fire Alarm Tech at Convergint
- 2-4 years of experience in fire alarm system installation and maintenance.
- NICET Level II Fire Alarm Systems certification required.
- Proven experience with Simplex Systems and Silent Knight Systems.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification is preferred.
- Experience with Fire-Lite Systems is an advantage.
- Specialized experience in educational institution projects.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in fire alarm system installations.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Mission Viejo, CA
- Additional locations: Laguna Niguel, Lake Forest, San Juan Capistrano, Aliso Viejo, and Irvine.
- Schedule: Full-time
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $27.19-$33.21 per hour
- Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
