Job Description:

AVI SPL, a global leader in communications and audio-visual technology for over 40 years, is currently seeking an experienced Cable Technician Team Leader for our Gresham, OR location. We are looking for a seasoned professional with 5-8 years of experience in managing crews, quality control, and project oversight in commercial voice, and data cabling installation.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of cable installation projects with a focus on commercial voice and data cabling.
2. Lead and manage teams of cable technicians. This includes setting day-to-day tasks, providing professional development opportunities, and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
3. Comprehend blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications as they relate to cabling installation.
4. Track and manage project budgets and timelines.
5. Execute quality control processes to ensure the correct installation of cables.
6. Collaborate with other AVI SPL departments and local agencies to ensure smooth project execution.
7. Assist in proposal development and sales presentations as needed.
8. Availability to occasionally work in surrounding areas if necessary.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in cable installation, preferably in a leadership role.
2. Familiarity with the Gresham, OR market, including understanding of local climate conditions that may impact cable installation.
3. Strong knowledge of local certification requirements and industry best practices.
4. Proficiency in the use of cable installation tools and equipment.
5. Extensive knowledge of safety procedures specific to the Gresham, OR region.
6. Ability to overcome regional industry challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
7. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
8. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
