The Security Tech Position

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As a Security Tech at WiLine, your day will be filled with dynamic and varied tasks. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining IP camera systems and access control systems. Additionally, your role will involve terminating low voltage cabling, programming access devices, and testing system connectivity to ensure optimal performance.

Core Security Tech Responsibilities

Installation and Configuration

• Install and configure IP cameras and access control systems
• Terminate and label low voltage cabling to ensure organized and efficient systems

Advanced Technical Duties

• Program advanced access control devices and integrate them with existing systems
• Conduct comprehensive system diagnostics to identify and resolve complex technical issues
• Implement and test advanced security protocols for enhanced system security

Regional Project Specifics

• Participate in large-scale security projects in the tech-heavy Irvine area
• Tailor security solutions to meet the unique needs of coastal properties in Newport Beach

Safety Protocols

• Adhere to stringent safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
• Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures during installations

Required Experience & Skills

Experience and Technical Proficiency

• Minimum of 1-3 years experience as a Security Tech
• Proven track record in installing and maintaining security systems
• Familiarity with cable termination tools and basic networking protocols

Essential Certifications

• CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certification
• Certification in IP camera systems and access control technologies

Technical Knowledge

• Proficiency with IP camera systems and understanding of network configurations
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service and communication

Tools & Equipment

Daily Tools and Company-Provided Equipment

• Use of multimeters, punch-down tools, and cable testers
• Personal tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and wire strippers are required
• Company-provided equipment includes laptops, software licenses, and PPE

Physical Requirements

Lifting and Working Conditions

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Work in various conditions, including outdoor sites and construction environments
• Required safety gear includes hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses

Compensation Package

• Salary range: $28.88-$33.76 per hour, based on experience
