Position Overview
The Office Data Center Technician at Tri City Electric will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining data center operations within a commercial environment. This position requires a proactive individual who can oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure. The technician will ensure the smooth operation of data centers for commercial clients, contributing to the success of projects in office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
Requirements for Office Data Center Technician
Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects
- Manage and maintain data center infrastructure for commercial clients.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot data center equipment and software.
- Utilize DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) software to monitor and optimize data center performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients and team members.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of data center facilities.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of data center operations and processes.
Required Certifications and Experience
- Certifications:
- BICSI DCDC (Data Center Design Consultant)
- OSHA 30 (Occupational Safety and Health Administration)
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of electrical experience in a commercial setting.
- Hands-on experience with DCIM Software.
- Lift Certification is required.
- Projects:
- Experience working on office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
- Licenses:
- Valid electrical license for Rhode Island.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
Safety Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to implement and adhere to safety measures in a data center environment.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and regulations.
Preferred Experience
- Proven experience with OSHA 30 certification.
- Previous experience in commercial project environments is highly desirable.
Location & Schedule
- Primary Location: Providence, RI
- Neighboring Cities: Cranston, East Providence, North Providence, Pawtucket, and Warwick.
- Schedule: Full-time position with the possibility of overtime based on project needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $25.64 - $30.67 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
