Key Responsibilities
- Design and Implement Fiber Optic Networks: Collaborate with network architects to design robust fiber networks tailored to enterprise clients’ needs, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Perform Fusion Splicing Operations: Conduct precise fusion splicing to ensure the integrity and efficiency of fiber connections, using industry-leading splicing equipment and techniques.
- Test and Certify Fiber Installations: Utilize Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers (OTDR) and other testing equipment to certify new installations and troubleshoot existing issues with a high degree of accuracy.
- Maintain Splice Documentation: Create and update comprehensive splice documentation to ensure accurate records of all network installations and modifications.
- Install Fiber Distribution Systems: Deploy fiber distribution systems in various settings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
- Configure DWDM Systems: Set up and configure Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems to enhance network capacity and performance.
- Perform OTDR Testing: Conduct regular OTDR tests to assess and ensure the quality and reliability of fiber optic links.
- Implement Fiber Management Systems: Develop and maintain efficient fiber management systems to optimize network organization and performance.
- Coordinate Pathway Installations: Work with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and compliant installation of pathways for fiber optic cables.
- Maintain a Clean Work Environment: Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organized, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
- Perform Emergency Restoration: Respond promptly to emergency situations to restore fiber services, minimizing downtime and impact on clients.
- Train Junior Technicians: Mentor and train junior team members, sharing expertise and fostering an environment of continuous learning.
- Provide Regional Support: Specifically address regional requirements, such as adhering to North Carolina’s building codes and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications
- Certifications: Must possess FOA certification and certifications in multiple splice platforms.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in fiber optic work within a commercial setting is required.
- Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with fusion splicing and proven expertise in OTDR testing.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex fiber optic issues efficiently.
- Fiber Management Systems: Demonstrated ability with fiber management systems and advanced knowledge of different fiber types.
- Documentation Systems: Experience with documenting systems to maintain accurate records and streamline operations.
