Position Overview at Teleco
The Low Voltage Cable Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of low voltage cabling systems in office buildings across Cary, NC, and neighboring areas. This role requires a keen eye for detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to safety and quality work. The technician will collaborate closely with project managers and other team members to ensure timely project completion and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions for Low Voltage Cable Technician
- Install, terminate, and test low voltage cables including fiber optic, ethernet, and coaxial in office building environments.
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure project specifications and timelines are met.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine project requirements and strategies.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during project execution.
Required Qualifications for Low Voltage Cable Technician at Teleco
- 2-4 years of experience in low voltage cabling or a related field.
- Required certification: Fiber Optic Certification.
- Experience with Fiber Optic Tools and Cable Testers.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification: OSHA 10.
- Experience with Cable Management Systems.
- Specialized experience in office building projects.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in low voltage installations.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Cary, NC.
- Additional locations: Raleigh, Durham, Apex, Morrisville, Chapel Hill.
- Schedule: Full-time, with occasional overtime as required to meet project deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $28.6-$33.95 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
