Commercial Apprentice at T&D Communications

T&D Communications, a leading provider of electrical solutions, is seeking a dedicated Commercial Apprentice to join our team in Cleveland, OH. This role is pivotal in supporting our lead commercial electricians in large-scale construction projects across the Greater Cleveland area, including surrounding cities such as Akron, Parma, and Elyria. As a Commercial Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience and develop expertise in complete building systems, including power distribution, controls, and automation. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and installation of comprehensive electrical systems for large-scale construction projects.
• Calculate electrical load requirements and ensure systems meet all specifications.
• Coordinate with Building Information Modeling (BIM) teams to ensure accurate project planning and execution.
• Supervise and support installation crews to maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Implement and manage lighting control systems to enhance energy efficiency and building functionality.
• Manage project material logistics to ensure timely delivery and proper inventory control.
• Perform system commissioning to verify installations meet operational standards.
• Install emergency power systems and ensure they comply with safety regulations.
• Coordinate with mechanical trades to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
• Program building automation interfaces to optimize performance and user experience.
• Mentor junior technicians, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
• Facilitate compliance with regional requirements for Ohio, including understanding local building codes and safety standards.
• Participate in the upcoming “Cleveland Metro Hospital Expansion” project, contributing to the electrical infrastructure development.

Required Qualifications

• Hold a Journeyman Electrical License with proven expertise in commercial settings.
• Demonstrated experience with BIM coordination and project management.
• Proficiency in lighting controls and building automation systems.
• Certified for operating multiple types of lifts and other necessary equipment.
• Strong leadership abilities with a focus on safety management and compliance.
• 0-3 years of experience specifically in a commercial setting as an Apprentice.
• Familiarity with Cleveland-specific regulations and codes, including local energy standards.
• Ability to travel between various project sites in the Cleveland area.
