Key Responsibilities

• Install fire alarm control panels and devices, ensuring accurate placement and functionality.
• Pull and terminate fire alarm cable, maintaining proper color coding and labeling.
• Mount notification appliances and initiation devices according to design specifications.
• Assist with system programming and testing to ensure optimal system performance.
• Maintain detailed point-to-point wiring documentation for accurate record-keeping.
• Coordinate with other trades for strategic device placement in active construction sites.
• Perform pre-wire and trim-out phases with precision and attention to detail.
• Install conduit and cable pathways, adhering to safety and building codes.
• Troubleshoot system wiring issues to ensure efficient system operation.
• Assist with final testing and inspections in collaboration with local inspectors.
• Understand regional requirements for Montana, including obtaining necessary permits.
• Participate in large upcoming projects like the Billings Heights Community Center development.

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience with commercial fire alarm systems installation.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and a solid understanding of NFPA 72 requirements.
• Knowledge of fire alarm circuit types and experience with basic programming.
• Ability to use a multimeter and other testing equipment efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Understanding of voltage drop calculations to ensure system efficiency.
• Good communication skills for effective coordination with team members and other trades.
• Familiarity with local Billings building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the Billings area.
