Data Center Cable Technician at Staley Technologies
Position Overview
Staley Technologies is seeking a skilled Data Center Cable Technician to join our regional team in Newark, NJ. This role is crucial to maintaining and optimizing our edge data center operations, supporting telecom providers, content delivery networks, and IoT services. As a technician, you will ensure seamless connectivity and infrastructure reliability, catering to the unique demands of the Newark market.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test various copper and fiber optic cables within the data center environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of cable systems to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with team members to implement and maintain cable management systems.
- Work with PDUs, DCIM Software, and Environmental Monitoring tools for efficient data center operations.
- Document and update all cabling configurations and modifications.
- Respond to service requests within a 30-mile radius of the Newark data center.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in data center cable installation and maintenance.
- CompTIA Server+ and CDCDP certifications.
- Proficiency with cable management systems and environmental monitoring tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional professional certifications in data center technologies.
- Experience working in edge data centers or similar environments.
- Familiarity with Newark’s telecom and content delivery landscape.
