Key Responsibilities

• Install and terminate 480V 3-phase power distribution systems to ensure reliable and safe operations within automated manufacturing setups.
• Perform precise conduit bending for complex industrial applications, utilizing advanced conduit bending equipment to accommodate the specific needs of our Newark-based clients.
• Assist with VFD and motor control installations, ensuring accurate programming and integration into existing systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifecycle.
• Use digital multimeters and meggars for testing electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs, documenting all repairs, inspections, and modifications to support ongoing system optimization.
• Assist with PLC cabinet assembly, contributing to the seamless integration of control systems in our projects.
• Follow confined space and elevated work procedures to maintain a safe working environment in accordance with industrial safety protocols.
• Support production equipment installations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve timely project completion.
• Comply with New Jersey-specific regulations, ensuring all installations and maintenance meet state standards.
• Coordinate with local utility providers in the Newark area to manage power distribution and service interruptions effectively.

Required Qualifications

• OSHA-30 certification is mandatory, reflecting a commitment to workplace safety and compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret industrial electrical blueprints and P&IDs, facilitating effective troubleshooting and system modifications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of motor control circuits, including experience with VFDs and related technologies.
• Experience with conduit bending machines up to 2”, essential for executing complex installations.
• Proficiency with digital testing equipment, including Fluke meters, to ensure accurate diagnostics and repairs.
• Strong mathematical skills for load calculations, supporting efficient and safe electrical system designs.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely, adhering to Eskew Electric’s high safety standards.
• Understanding of industrial network infrastructure, critical for maintaining and improving automated systems.
• 1-3 years of experience required for apprentice work in an industrial setting, preferably within the Newark region.
• Familiarity with Newark’s industrial landscape and local electrical codes is highly desirable.
• Valid Electrical Apprentice License in the state of New Jersey, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
