Security Technician at Black Box

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Security Technician specializing in low voltage wiring to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems. This role requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain low voltage systems, including security cameras, access control panels, and alarm systems.
• Perform wiring, cable routing, and termination for low voltage systems, adhering to industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with security systems, including hardware and software malfunctions.
• Conduct system testing to ensure optimal performance and compliance with client specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate system installations.
• Provide excellent customer service, explaining system functions and answering client questions.
• Document installation processes and maintain records of equipment and systems for future reference.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and readiness for each project.
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations while working on-site.

Qualifications

• Experience with low voltage wiring and security system installation (CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms).
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment specific to low voltage installations, such as cable testers, drills, and wire strippers.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required by project sites.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts as they relate to security systems (preferred).
