The Field Operations Fire Alarm Designer at Safe and Sound plays a crucial role in our project management environment. This position involves designing, developing, and implementing fire alarm systems for a variety of projects, including new constructions, tenant improvements, and renovations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems and a passion for ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with project management teams to design fire alarm systems that meet client specifications and comply with industry standards.
- Conduct site assessments and surveys to determine the specific fire alarm needs for each project.
- Utilize Fire Alarm Design Software to create detailed plans and specifications.
- Oversee the installation and testing of fire alarm systems, ensuring they function correctly and efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NFPA 25 and NFPA 70 codes and standards, applying them to all design and implementation processes.
- Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within financial constraints.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical systems, with a focus on fire alarm design and installation.
- Valid electrical license for Utah.
- Proficient in using Fire Alarm Installation Tools and Fire Alarm Design Software.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to the job, including lifting and working in various environments.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Fire Alarm Testing Equipment.
- Proven experience in managing or assisting with project management tasks in fire alarm projects.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: West Valley City, UT
- Neighboring cities include Taylorsville, Kearns, West Jordan, and Salt Lake City.
- Schedule: Full-time, with potential for occasional overtime based on project demands.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $41.26-$48.19 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
