What You’ll Do as a Security Tech

Welcome to Rogers Electric in Daly City, CA, where we’re looking for a practical and detail-oriented Security Tech to join our team. As a Security Tech, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients’ premises. Our current projects involve intricate security systems installations in both commercial and residential settings. You’ll be hands-on every day, working to install and maintain cutting-edge security technology, ensuring everything operates smoothly and securely.

Your Daily Tasks as a Security Tech

As a Security Tech, your day-to-day tasks will be varied and engaging. You’ll start by installing and configuring IP cameras and access control systems, ensuring each piece is perfectly in place. You’ll also be responsible for terminating low voltage cabling, which requires precision and attention to detail. Programming basic access devices will be another key part of your day, making sure systems are tailored to client specifications.

You’ll regularly test system connectivity, identifying and resolving any issues that arise. Troubleshooting will be a significant part of your role, requiring quick problem-solving skills to maintain optimal system performance. Maintaining installation logs will also be essential, documenting each step for future reference.

On top of these tasks, you’ll frequently liaise with clients, conducting system demonstrations to ensure they understand how to operate their new security setups. Additionally, you’ll conduct routine maintenance checks and respond to any client concerns or questions, ensuring customer satisfaction and system reliability.

What You Need to Be a Security Tech

To be successful in this role, you’ll need hands-on experience installing security systems, ideally with 1-3 years in the field. Familiarity with cable termination tools and a solid understanding of basic networking protocols are essential. You’ll need proficiency with IP camera systems and the ability to configure and program devices effectively.

Attention to detail is critical in this position, as is a strong commitment to customer service. You’ll need excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively. Problem-solving abilities and a readiness to adapt to new technologies will also serve you well in this dynamic role.

Compensation
