Voice & Data Technician at Prime Partners

Job Title: Voice & Data Technician Company: Prime Partners Location: San Bernardino, CA (Including surrounding cities)

Job Description: Prime Partners, a leading provider of electrical services in commercial work, is looking for a skilled Voice & Data Technician to join our team. This position is primarily focused on new construction projects and big box retail in San Bernardino, CA and its surrounding cities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, terminate, and test all forms of communication cabling including but not limited to: CAT5e, CAT6, fiber optic, and coaxial cables.
2. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics, while managing layout and installation of systems.
3. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot voice and data systems such as VoIP, Ethernet, and wireless networks.
4. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on communication systems to ensure optimal performance.
5. Utilize electronic test equipment to pinpoint and rectify network issues.
6. Comply with all applicable safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.
7. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and clients to ensure tasks are completed on time and to specifications.
8. Provide high-quality customer service, addressing client concerns promptly and professionally.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Completion of a relevant apprenticeship or a minimum of 3 years of experience in the electrical industry, specifically in commercial work.
3. Strong knowledge of voice and data systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
4. Proven experience working with CAT5e, CAT6, fiber optic, and coaxial cables.
5. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
8. Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
9. Certification from a recognized industry organization such as BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International) is a plus.

Requirements:

1. Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
2. Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
3. Availability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as necessary.
4. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
