Job Description:

Prime Partners is seeking a skilled Voice & Data Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing voice, data, and electronic communication systems. The role mainly focuses on commercial work, particularly new construction and big box retail. We are looking for an individual who is highly skilled in the electrical industry and is ready to take up the challenge to deliver excellent results.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, modify, repair, and maintain voice and data cabling systems, following blueprints and schematics.
2. Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all voice and data communication systems.
3. Test newly installed or relocated equipment to ensure its performance meets the required specifications.
4. Diagnose and correct malfunctions in voice and data communication services and equipment.
5. Maintain records of work performed and materials used; prepare required reports.
6. Install, test, and troubleshoot various types of data network cabling systems.
7. Provide on-site customer support for voice and data installation projects.
8. Work in collaboration with other team members and departments to ensure all project specifications are met.
9. Comply with all safety and health regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High School diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree in related field preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Voice & Data Technician or in a similar role.
3. Extensive knowledge of voice/data installations, troubleshooting, and programming.
4. Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and schematics.
5. Strong understanding of electrical codes and OSHA guidelines.
6. BICSI certification or similar credential is a plus.
7. Must have a valid driver’s license.
8. Ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
9. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
11. Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
12. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and in various weather conditions as necessary.
