Voice and Data Installer Position Overview
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As a Voice and Data Installer at Prime Partners, you will be at the forefront of our installation projects. Your daily tasks will include laying out and terminating low-voltage cabling systems, configuring network hardware, and ensuring all installations are up to industry standards. You will be expected to perform precise cable testing and troubleshooting to ensure that every system operates at its peak performance.

Core Voice and Data Installer Responsibilities
Installation and Termination
You will install and terminate low-voltage cabling systems, including CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optics, for sophisticated voice and data networks. This includes mounting and configuring network hardware such as patch panels, switches, and wireless access points.
Advanced Technical Duties
- Perform advanced cable testing and certification using the latest tools to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide solutions to optimize system performance.
- Design and implement efficient cable pathways using raceways, conduits, and trays while adhering to building and safety codes.
Regional Project Specifics
You will be involved in projects across the Irving region, including Grand Prairie and Arlington, where your expertise will contribute to the completion of high-profile installations.
Safety Protocols
Safety is paramount. You will follow strict safety protocols, ensuring all installations comply with building codes and regulations, while also adhering to Prime Partners’ safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Voice and Data Installer.
- Proven experience with low-voltage systems, including structured cabling and network hardware.
- Strong knowledge of cable testing tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in active construction environments and multi-task effectively.
Essential Certifications
- BICSI Installer Certification (preferred)
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification
Required Technical Knowledge
A deep understanding of network hardware configurations and the ability to interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
Tools & Equipment
Daily Tools
Installers use a variety of tools daily, including cable testers, punch-down tools, and crimping tools. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.

Physical Requirements
Lifting Requirements
