The Role of a Security Technician at Prime Partners
As a Security Technician with Prime Partners, you’ll be at the forefront of safeguarding our clients’ assets through the implementation and maintenance of top-tier security systems. Our current project is based in Alhambra, CA, with future opportunities in nearby cities such as Pasadena, Monterey Park, and San Gabriel. You will be part of a team working on multi-year projects, providing dependable security solutions to commercial and industrial clients. This role is hands-on, requiring technical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
Your Daily Tasks as a Security Technician
Installation and Configuration
Your primary responsibility will be to install, configure, and troubleshoot a variety of security systems. This includes IP cameras, access control systems, motion detectors, and alarm systems at commercial job sites. You’ll ensure each system is set up correctly and operates smoothly.
Cable Management
You’ll be responsible for pulling, terminating, and labeling low-voltage cables. This requires ensuring proper routing and compliance with site specifications, which is crucial for system functionality and reliability.
System Testing and Verification
Perform comprehensive on-site testing to verify system functionality, connectivity, and power reliability. This step is vital to ensure that installations meet both customer and industry standards, providing peace of mind to our clients.
Collaboration and Documentation
Collaborate closely with project managers and general contractors to align installations with project timelines. Maintain accurate installation records and documentation, ensuring that all systems are up to standard.
Client Training and Safety Protocols
You will provide basic training to clients on system operation and troubleshooting, ensuring they can effectively use their new security systems. Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining cleanliness and organization on job sites is also a critical aspect of your daily routine.
Additional Tasks
- Conduct regular maintenance checks to preemptively identify and resolve potential issues.
- Assist in the development of customized security solutions to meet specific client needs.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress and address any challenges.
What You Need to Be a Security Technician
Experience and Skills
To thrive as a Security Technician, you should have 1-3 years of experience in the field. Key skills include:
