What You’ll Do as a Low Voltage Project Manager
As a Low Voltage Project Manager at Prime Partners, you will be at the forefront of managing and executing low voltage system installations for our projects in Santa Fe and nearby areas, such as Española, Los Alamos, and Eldorado at Santa Fe. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You’ll be the key point of contact, liaising with general contractors, subcontractors, and clients, making sure everything runs smoothly from the planning phase to the final installation.
Your Daily Tasks as a Low Voltage Project Manager
Oversee System Installations
On a daily basis, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the installation of various low voltage systems, including voice/data cabling, fire alarms, security systems, card access controls, and CCTV. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that all installations meet project specifications and quality standards.
Coordination and Communication
You’ll coordinate closely with different teams, including general contractors and subcontractors, to ensure seamless integration of low voltage systems into the larger construction project. Regular communication with clients will be essential to keep them informed of progress and address any concerns.
Budget and Schedule Management
Managing project budgets and schedules will be a significant part of your role. You’ll develop comprehensive project plans, monitor expenses, and adjust schedules as necessary to keep the project on track. Your ability to anticipate and mitigate potential delays will be critical.
On-Site Inspections and Problem Solving
Conducting regular on-site inspections will be part of your routine to monitor work progress and ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations. You’ll need to be proactive in identifying and resolving any issues that arise, ensuring that installations meet industry standards.
Training and Mentorship
As a leader, you’ll train and mentor field technicians, sharing your expertise to enhance their skills and improve overall team performance. Your guidance will be instrumental in driving project efficiency and achieving successful outcomes.
Additional Daily Activities
- Review and interpret blueprints and technical drawings with installation teams.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain thorough project documentation.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings to provide project updates and gather feedback.
What You Need to Be a Low Voltage Project Manager
Experience and Knowledge
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Low Voltage Project Manager.
- Extensive knowledge of structured cabling, fire alarm panels, access control systems, and CCTV.
Essential Skills
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively coordinate with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Technical Proficiency
- Proficiency with project management software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address on-site challenges and ensure project success.
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to visit job sites and inspect installations as required.
Compensation
- Competitive salary range: $50.14-$62.44 per hour, depending on experience.
