What You’ll Do as a Journeyman Electrician
As a Journeyman Electrician at Prime Partners, you will play a crucial role in our multi-year construction project in Pomona, CA, with additional opportunities in neighboring cities such as Claremont, La Verne, and Chino. Your expertise will be essential in shaping the electrical framework of commercial new constructions, ensuring all systems are safe, efficient, and up to code. Your Daily Tasks as a Journeyman Electrician
Planning and Installation
Your primary responsibility will be to plan, layout, and install comprehensive electrical systems. This includes everything from power distribution and lighting to advanced energy management systems. You’ll need to interpret complex blueprints, electrical schematics, and building plans to execute precise installations.
Conduit Systems and Wiring
You will install various conduit systems, including EMT, rigid, and flexible, ensuring all pathways are secure and compliant. Pulling wire and terminating connections for panels, switches, and outlets will be part of your daily routine. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that every installation meets the highest standards.
Troubleshooting and Repair
As a Journeyman Electrician, you will troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, maintaining the safety and functionality of all systems. You’ll need to identify problems quickly and implement effective solutions to ensure minimal downtime and maximum safety.
Compliance and Safety
Ensuring all work complies with local, state, and national codes is paramount. You’ll maintain OSHA safety standards, protecting yourself and your team while on site. Your role will also involve coordinating with other trades to ensure seamless project progression.
Additional Responsibilities

What You Need to Be a Journeyman Electrician
Licensing and Experience
To qualify for this role, you must hold a valid license from the CA Department of Industrial Relations and have 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical installations, focusing on power systems, lighting, and controls.
Skills and Abilities
Key skills include proficiency in operating specialized electrical tools and equipment, the ability to read and interpret complex plans, and strong troubleshooting abilities. You should also be capable of supervising apprentices and coordinating effectively with multiple trades on construction sites.
