Qualifications for Journeyman Electrician

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician
• Possession of a valid electrician’s license from the CA Department of Industrial Relations
• Proven experience in commercial electrical installations, focusing on power systems, lighting, and controls
• Proficiency in using specialized electrical tools and equipment
• Ability to supervise apprentices and coordinate effectively with multiple trades

Responsibilities for Journeyman Electrician

• Plan, layout, and execute the installation of complete electrical systems for commercial construction projects
• Accurately read and interpret complex blueprints, electrical schematics, and building plans
• Install conduits (EMT, rigid, and flex), pull wires, and terminate connections for panels, switches, and outlets
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to ensure safety and compliance
• Maintain adherence to local, state, and national electrical codes and uphold OSHA safety standards
