Your Daily Tasks as a Fire Sprinkler Designer
As a Fire Sprinkler Designer at Prime Partners, your day begins with developing detailed fire sprinkler system designs tailored to commercial new construction projects. You will leverage your expertise to ensure each design complies with local, state, and national fire safety codes. Utilizing industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD, you’ll create precise system layouts, perform hydraulic calculations, and compile comprehensive material lists.
A significant part of your role involves reviewing architectural and engineering plans. You’ll work closely with these documents to ensure the fire sprinkler systems seamlessly integrate with other building systems, avoiding any potential conflicts. Preparing submittals, including drawings and technical specifications, for client and authority approvals is a regular task that requires your keen attention to detail.
Collaboration is key in this position. You’ll engage with project managers, contractors, and field teams to tackle any design challenges head-on, ensuring a smooth installation process. Regular site visits to verify design feasibility and accuracy are part of your routine, allowing you to adapt and refine designs as necessary. What You Need to Be a Fire Sprinkler Designer
