What You’ll Do as a Cable Puller
Overview of the Cable Puller Role
As a Cable Puller at Prime Partners, you’ll be at the forefront of our multi-year project in Ogden, UT, with additional work in neighboring cities such as Layton, Roy, and Clearfield. Your main responsibility is to ensure the seamless installation of low voltage cabling across data centers and office networks. This role is essential for maintaining connectivity and communication across our projects, making you a vital part of our team.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Your typical day will involve working closely with a team of skilled technicians, project managers, and other construction professionals. You will install, terminate, and test cables to ensure robust network infrastructure. Your Daily Tasks as a Cable Puller
Installation and Termination
Your primary task will be to assist in the installation of Ethernet and fiber optic cables. This includes terminating these cables with jacks and patch panels, ensuring each connection is reliable and up to standard.
Pathway Installation
You’ll also install cable pathways, such as trays and raceways, which are essential for structured cabling systems. This involves planning and executing efficient cable routing to support future scalability and maintenance.
Testing and Troubleshooting
Once the cables are installed, you’ll perform testing and certification using network testing equipment. This ensures all systems are functioning correctly and meets quality standards. Additionally, you will troubleshoot network connectivity issues that may arise during installation and the final commissioning phases.
Collaboration and Documentation
