What You’ll Do as an Apprentice Electrician
At Prime Partners, we’re looking for dedicated Apprentice Electricians to join our team for an exciting multi-year project in Cheyenne, WY, with additional projects in nearby cities like Laramie, Greeley, and Fort Collins. As an Apprentice Electrician, you’ll play a crucial role in our construction projects, working closely with experienced journeymen to install and maintain electrical systems. Your day-to-day work will be hands-on and varied, offering you a chance to develop your skills in a real-world environment.
Your Daily Tasks as an Apprentice Electrician
As an Apprentice Electrician, you’ll be involved in a variety of tasks that are essential to the successful completion of our projects. You’ll assist in installing electrical systems for large-scale retail and warehouse facilities, ensuring that each installation meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Under the guidance of journeymen, you’ll run and secure conduit (EMT and PVC), pull, terminate, and label wiring for lighting and power circuits.
You’ll also help install and test control systems for HVAC, security, and automated doors. This involves preparing work areas by organizing tools, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient operations. You’ll follow blueprints and detailed instructions to assist with lighting installations and equipment wiring. Additionally, you’ll learn to troubleshoot basic issues in electrical circuits and control systems, an essential skill for any electrician. Other common activities include:
- Assisting with the installation of electrical panels and switchgear
- Conducting routine maintenance checks on electrical systems
- Collaborating with other trades to ensure seamless project execution
What You Need to Be an Apprentice Electrician
To thrive as an Apprentice Electrician at Prime Partners, you’ll need a solid foundation in electrical work and a strong desire to learn. You should be capable of handling and installing conduit and wiring in a structured environment. Comfort with working at heights on ladders and lifts is essential, as many tasks require it. Strong organizational skills are crucial for managing tools and job site materials efficiently.
We’re looking for individuals who are eager to learn the basics of control systems and power distribution and can follow detailed instructions while adhering to safety standards. You should have 1-4 years of experience in the field as an Apprentice Electrician. Must-have skills include:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics
- Hands-on experience with electrical tools and equipment
- A strong understanding of electrical safety protocols
Compensation
