Apprentice Electrician Position Overview

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As an Apprentice Electrician at Prime Partners, your daily tasks will include supporting senior electricians in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems. You will be actively involved in the setup of rooftop solar arrays, battery systems, and EV chargers on commercial properties. Your role will also encompass conduit installation for DC wiring, assisting in basic wiring tasks, and learning to test and troubleshoot solar inverters.

Core Apprentice Electrician Responsibilities

Support the installation of rooftop solar arrays, battery systems, and EV chargers on commercial properties. Assist in running and securing conduit for DC wiring from solar modules to inverters. Perform basic wiring tasks, such as terminating PV modules and connecting battery storage systems. Learn to test and troubleshoot solar inverters and monitoring systems under supervision. Coordinate material preparation, including pre-assembling racking systems and ensuring tools are organized. Follow safety procedures for rooftop work and use of fall protection equipment.

Advanced Technical Duties

• Assist in the configuration and calibration of advanced solar monitoring systems.
• Engage in the installation and integration of smart grid technologies.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting of complex electrical circuits under guidance.

Qualifications

Essential Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 1-4 years of experience as an Apprentice Electrician.
• Understanding of basic electrical principles, including DC power systems.
• Ability to follow technical instructions for assembling and wiring renewable energy systems.
• Strong organizational skills for material handling and job site preparation.
• Comfortable working with hand tools and basic testing equipment.

Certifications and Technical Knowledge

• OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification.
• Basic First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
