Electrical Apprentice at Oak Electrical

Oak Electrical, a leading electrical contracting company based in New Haven, CT, is seeking a diligent and motivated Commercial Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team. Our projects span across New Haven and neighboring cities such as West Haven, East Haven, and Hamden. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of basic electrical theory, lighting systems, and commercial power distribution. Key Responsibilities

• Install commercial electrical systems according to company standards and NEC code requirements.
• Assist with lighting installations and basic lighting controls to ensure efficient operation.
• Run EMT conduit and pull wire with precision and attention to detail.
• Wire devices and assist senior electricians with device termination tasks.
• Help troubleshoot electrical issues under the supervision of a licensed electrician.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Coordinate effectively with other trades to ensure seamless project execution.

Required Qualifications

• Electrical Apprentice License and OSHA-10 certification.
• First Aid/CPR and scissor lift certifications.
• Strong basic electrical knowledge with a solid understanding of NEC code requirements.
• Experience with EMT conduit bending, wire pulling, and device termination.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
• Proficiency with power tools and safe handling practices.
• 1-3 years of experience in an Apprentice role within a commercial setting.
• Willingness to work from heights and use ladders safely.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and work overtime when necessary.
• Must be willing to travel locally between job sites.
