This role will have you working in a vibrant region, including the neighboring cities of West Haven, East Haven, and Hamden. You’ll be the primary technical resource for complex electrical issues, focusing on critical facilities such as data centers and healthcare institutions. Your role will involve advanced diagnostics, power monitoring, and building automation integration, with responsibilities extending into the greater New Haven area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electrical system diagnostics using power quality analyzers, thermal imaging, and oscilloscopes.
• Troubleshoot building automation system integration issues.
• Design and implement power factor correction solutions.
• Diagnose and repair complex lighting control systems.
• Manage emergency power system testing and maintenance.
• Develop maintenance programs tailored for critical facilities.
• Provide detailed repair documentation and recommendations.
• Train facility staff on proper electrical system operation.
• Coordinate with utilities on service upgrades.
• Perform arc flash assessments and labeling.
• Conduct regional power quality surveys specific to the New Haven area.
• Ensure compliance with Connecticut electrical regulations.
• Manage service contracts within the New Haven metropolitan area.

Required Qualifications

• Journeyman License with master electrician preferred.
• Advanced certifications in power quality analysis.
• Extensive experience with thermal imaging and diagnostic equipment.
• Proven expertise in critical power systems.
• Demonstrated ability in customer relationship management.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills across multiple systems and manufacturers.
• Certification in building automation systems.
• Experience with arc flash studies and safety program development.
• 7+ years of experience required for Journeyman work in a commercial setting.
• Familiarity with local electrical codes and standards in New Haven.
• Experience with regional utility coordination in Connecticut.
