Mirapath is seeking a diligent and skilled Fire Alarm Installation Technician to join our team in Kirkland, WA, with responsibilities extending to neighboring cities such as Bellevue, Redmond, and Bothell. This role focuses on the installation of fire alarm systems in commercial new construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of fire alarm system installation, including control panels, initiating devices, and notification appliances. Experience with fire alarm cable installation, device mounting, and basic programming is preferred. While NICET certification is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Proficiency in NFPA 72 standards, circuit types, and testing procedures is essential for success in this position. The technician will be responsible for installing complete fire alarm systems in commercial buildings, ensuring proper wiring methods, device placement, and thorough documentation. This role involves maintaining detailed wiring records, coordinating with inspectors, and performing rigorous system testing. Work may occasionally require collaboration with other trades on active construction sites. Physical tasks include ladder work, cable pulling, and device mounting. The ability to read blueprints and understand the sequence of operations is critical. This position offers exposure to a variety of system types and opportunities for career advancement. Weekend work may be required during critical testing phases. A clean background check and drug screening are mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Install fire alarm control panels and devices.
• Pull and terminate fire alarm cables.
• Mount notification appliances and initiation devices.
• Assist with system programming and testing.
• Maintain detailed point-to-point wiring documentation.
• Coordinate with other trades for device placement.
• Perform pre-wire and trim-out phases.
• Install conduit and cable pathways.
• Troubleshoot system wiring issues.
• Maintain proper color coding and labeling.
• Assist with final testing and inspections.

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience with commercial fire alarm systems.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 requirements.
• Understanding of fire alarm circuit types.
• Experience with basic programming.
• Ability to use multimeter and testing equipment.
• Attention to detail for documentation.
• Understanding of voltage drop calculations.
• Good communication skills for coordination.
• Familiarity with the local building codes in Kirkland.
• Valid Washington state driver’s license.
