Key Responsibilities

• Design and install structured cabling systems for data centers and enterprise networks.
• Perform high-density fiber optic cable installations.
• Certify cabling systems using advanced test equipment.
• Implement proper cable management in network rooms.
• Terminate and test high-speed copper and fiber connections.
• Maintain detailed testing documentation and warranties.
• Coordinate pathway installation with other trades.
• Perform data center hot aisle/cold aisle separation.
• Install overhead cable tray and ladder rack systems.
• Maintain clean room protocols for sensitive environments.
• Coordinate with local utility companies for safe installations.
• Ensure compliance with Milwaukee’s electrical codes and standards.
• Engage with Milwaukee’s data center initiatives to support regional growth.

Required Qualifications

• BICSI Installer 1 certification required, Installer 2 preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with fiber optic installation and testing.
• Proficiency with multiple certification testers.
• Understanding of data center design principles.
• Experience with cable management systems and pathways.
• Knowledge of clean room procedures.
• Ability to read and create cable installation drawings.
• Understanding of network hardware requirements.
• 1-5 years of experience required for Voice Data work in a commercial setting.
• Familiarity with Wisconsin’s data center infrastructure standards.
• Ability to work in Milwaukee’s diverse climate conditions.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with local teams.
