Electrician at Marathon Electrical
Marathon Electrical, a leading provider of electrical services, is seeking a dedicated Industrial Apprentice Electrician to join our team in Mobile, AL. Located along the beautiful Gulf Coast, Mobile is a vibrant city known for its rich history, culture, and proximity to neighboring cities such as Daphne, Fairhope, and Spanish Fort. Key Responsibilities
- Install and terminate 480V 3-phase power distribution systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Perform precise conduit bending for complex industrial applications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Assist with the installation and configuration of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and motor control systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize digital multimeters and meggars to perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs and documentation to support ongoing operations and audits.
- Assist with the assembly and wiring of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) cabinets.
- Follow confined space and elevated work procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support production equipment installations and modifications as required.
- Ensure compliance with Alabama state regulations and regional codes for electrical installations.
- Collaborate with team members to address specific electrical challenges unique to the Mobile area, such as high humidity and salt air environments.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote electrical safety awareness in the Mobile region.
Required Qualifications
- OSHA-30 certification and a valid Electrical Apprentice License.
- Ability to read and interpret industrial electrical blueprints and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Demonstrated knowledge of motor control circuits and industrial control systems.
- Experience with conduit bending machines up to 2” for industrial applications.
- Proficiency with digital testing equipment, including Fluke meters.
- Strong mathematical skills for performing load calculations and electrical measurements.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Understanding of industrial network infrastructure and its integration with electrical systems.
- 1-3 years of experience in an industrial setting, with a focus on electrical systems and automation.
- Familiarity with Mobile’s industrial landscape, including port facilities and shipbuilding operations.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed in the Mobile area.
