Data Center Cable Tech at M3 Technology
M3 Technology is seeking a skilled Data Center Cable Technician in Huntsville, AL. This role involves installing and certifying copper and fiber cabling in data centers, with work extending to nearby cities like Madison, Decatur, and Athens. The position offers opportunities to work on large-scale projects, including the upcoming Huntsville Data Hub expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Install and dress Category 6/6A cabling systems, terminate copper and fiber connections, and maintain cable management in server racks. Install overhead cable tray and ladder rack, perform cable testing and certification, and document test results and warranties. Maintain clean room protocols, organize patch panel layouts, implement proper cable routing and separation, and assist with fiber trunk installation. Maintain detailed labeling systems. Work on the Huntsville Data Hub project, adhere to Alabama’s building codes, and ensure compliance with state-specific safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
BICSI Installer 1 preferred, with experience in structured cabling systems. Proficiency in cable termination techniques, knowledge of testing procedures, and understanding of cable management best practices are essential. Ability to read network drawings, experience with labeling systems, and attention to detail required. 1-3 years of experience in Voice Data work in a commercial setting. Familiarity with local Huntsville regulations, availability for regional travel, and understanding of Alabama’s network infrastructure standards.
