Role Overview
As a Commercial Electrician at H & A Electric, you will be an integral part of our Commercial division, working on a variety of projects that demand expertise and a keen eye for detail. Your role will primarily involve installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems within commercial structures such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools. You will ensure that all electrical work adheres to industry standards and complies with safety regulations, thereby supporting the seamless operation of our clients’ facilities.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components within commercial buildings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine wiring layouts.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment, including hydraulic benders and threaders, to complete assigned tasks.
• Perform advanced electrical testing using meters such as the Fluke 87V.
• Ensure adherence to all safety guidelines and regulations, including OSHA standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any electrical issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure project completion on schedule and within budget.

Required Certifications and Skills

• Master Electrician certification is preferred.
• Confined Space certification.
• Valid electrical license for the state of Alabama.
• Proficiency in using specialty tools such as hydraulic benders and threaders, and advanced meters including the Fluke 87V.
• Demonstrated experience with OSHA 30.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of electrical experience, preferably in commercial settings.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety practices.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that require climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working on commercial projects is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with OSHA 30 regulations and practices.

Location & Schedule

This position is based in Huntsville, AL, with projects primarily located in the surrounding area. Huntsville is conveniently located near several neighboring cities including Madison, Decatur, Athens, and Hartselle, AL. This central location allows for easy access to a range of project sites across the region.

• Schedule: Full-time position, with standard work hours and potential for overtime depending on project demands.
