Key Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical system installations and learn commercial wiring methods.
• Support power distribution projects and help with lighting control programming.
• Install conduit and cable pathways, maintaining material inventory.
• Operate lift equipment under supervision and assist with fire alarm installation.
• Document daily work activities and support panel installation and testing.
• Learn building automation basics and coordinate with other trades.
• Assist with the cable installation for the Riverfront Revitalization Project.
• Ensure compliance with Iowa’s electrical codes and regulations.
• Contribute to the safety protocols specific to high-traffic commercial areas.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required and enrollment in a state-approved apprenticeship program.
• Basic electrical knowledge and ability to read construction drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools and valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and good communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and commitment to ongoing education.
• 1-5 years experience required for voice data work in a commercial setting.
• Familiarity with Midwestern weather conditions for outdoor work.
• Knowledge of Iowa’s electrical safety standards and practices.
