Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement fiber optic networks tailored to client specifications.
• Perform fusion splicing operations to ensure optimal connectivity.
• Test and certify fiber installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation of splice operations and network configurations.
• Install and configure fiber distribution and DWDM systems.
• Conduct OTDR testing to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.
• Implement and manage fiber management systems to optimize network performance.
• Coordinate fiber pathway installations in diverse environments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
• Execute emergency restoration procedures promptly to minimize downtime.
• Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Collaborate on the upcoming Smyrna Fiber Expansion Project, enhancing regional connectivity.
• Adhere to Georgia-specific regulations and codes in all fiber installations.
• Support the Cobb County Infrastructure Upgrade Initiative, ensuring timely project completion.

Required Qualifications

• FOA certification is mandatory for this role.
• Extensive experience with fusion splicing and OTDR testing.
• Proven expertise in managing complex fiber systems and documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with emergency response.
• 2-5 years of experience in commercial fiber work, with a focus on large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with Smyrna’s local infrastructure and regional compliance requirements.
• Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
