Inc Installs, a leader in data center infrastructure solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Rack Infrastructure Specialist to join our team in St. Paul, MN. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless deployment of equipment within our data centers. The position will primarily focus on installing and configuring rack infrastructure, power distribution, and cable management. Our ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of hardware installation, structured cabling, and documentation. While this position is based in St. Paul, work may extend to neighboring cities such as Minneapolis, Bloomington, and Eagan. We are looking for a dedicated professional who can manage complex installations and maintain our high standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure server rack infrastructure in critical environments.
- Perform structured cabling installations adhering to industry standards.
- Implement effective cable management systems to optimize performance and accessibility.
- Mount network equipment and install power distribution units accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate equipment deployments to ensure timely installation in line with project schedules.
- Maintain comprehensive rack documentation for future reference and audits.
- Perform meticulous hardware inventory management, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Execute rack and stack procedures with precision, ensuring operational readiness.
- Implement labeling systems to maintain organization and ease of equipment identification.
- Maintain clean room protocols, ensuring adherence to environmental and safety standards.
- Coordinate with network teams to ensure seamless integration of new equipment.
- Specific to the St. Paul area, the role will involve supporting the upcoming “Twin Cities Data Expansion Project,” requiring dedicated oversight and coordination.
- Ensure compliance with Minnesota-specific data center regulations and safety standards.
- Engage in regional equipment testing and validation procedures to meet local compliance.
- Participate in local training workshops and seminars to stay updated on industry advancements.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with rack and stack procedures in a commercial setting.
- Proficiency in structured cabling and cable management best practices.
- Expertise with mounting systems, power distribution, and network hardware.
- Experience with inventory systems and detailed documentation processes.
- Proven attention to detail and ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
- 1-3 years of experience in data center infrastructure roles within a commercial context.
- Familiarity with St. Paul’s local data center environment and specific logistical challenges.
- Knowledge of Minnesota’s regulatory requirements for data center operations.
- Ability to work effectively in the St. Paul region, coordinating with local vendors and contractors.
