Journeyman Electrician Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician at IES Electric, San Mateo, CA, for long-term renewable energy projects. You’ll be integral in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems, including solar and battery storage, ensuring efficient and compliant energy solutions for commercial properties.
Qualifications for Journeyman Electrician
- 4+ Years Experience: Proven track record as a Journeyman Electrician.
- Certification: Must hold a valid California Journeyman Certification from the Department of Industrial Relations.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of NEC and renewable energy codes, particularly in solar and battery storage. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and ability to interpret technical diagrams.
Responsibilities for Journeyman Electrician
- System Installation: Install and troubleshoot solar panels, energy storage systems, and inverters for commercial properties.
- Wiring and Conduit: Route and install conduit and wiring for high-voltage DC and AC systems.
- Collaboration and Maintenance: Work with engineers to optimize energy systems, perform preventive maintenance, and supervise apprentices to ensure safety and efficiency.
