Overview of Commercial Cable Technician Role
As a Commercial Cable Technician at IES Electric, you will be a critical part of a dynamic team responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial settings. Your role will involve working on various projects, from office buildings to hospitals, where your skills in handling complex cabling systems will be essential. You will ensure that all installations meet industry standards and client specifications, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our projects.
Essential Functions
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables in commercial environments.
- Troubleshoot and repair cable systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment.
- Document and report on project progress and any issues encountered.
- Stay updated on the latest industry standards and technologies.
Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects
- Conduct site surveys to assess cabling needs and plan installations.
- Coordinate with clients and other contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.

- Schedule: Full-time, with potential for overtime depending on project needs.

- Pay Range: $23.16-$26.64 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
