Overview of Healthcare Cable Technician Role

As a Healthcare Cable Technician at IES Electric, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of cable systems within healthcare and other commercial environments. This position demands a professional with a keen eye for detail, extensive knowledge of electrical systems, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of cable systems in commercial projects, particularly within healthcare facilities.

Essential Functions

• Installation and Maintenance: Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of cable systems in healthcare facilities and other commercial environments such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
• System Testing: Conduct regular testing of cable systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to cable systems promptly and efficiently.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, electricians, and other team members to ensure timely project completion and adherence to safety standards.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with relevant electrical codes and safety regulations.

Required Certifications:

• Basic Electrical Safety
• BICSI Certification

Experience with:

• First Aid/CPR
• Basic Electrical Safety
• BICSI Standards

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of electrical experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
• Valid electrical license for South Carolina.
• Proven experience with First Aid/CPR and Basic Electrical Safety.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols and electrical codes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with BICSI standards and practices.
• Prior experience working on commercial projects, particularly in healthcare settings.

Location & Schedule

• Primary Location: North Charleston, SC
• Neighboring Cities: Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Goose Creek, Hanahan, Ladson, Summerville
• Schedule: Full-time position with standard business hours. Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $22.29 - $25.84 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
