Overview of Multi-Family Journeyman Electrician Role

As a Multi-Family Journeyman Electrician at Howell Electric, you will play a critical role in executing and managing electrical installations and maintenance across various residential projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical work complies with industry standards and local codes while meeting the high-quality benchmarks set by Howell Electric. This position requires a skilled professional who can work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating proficiency in advanced electrical systems and safety practices.

Essential Functions

• Perform electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades in multi-family, custom home, and residential remodel projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems.
• Utilize advanced test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
• Execute conduit bending and installation to ensure the proper routing and protection of electrical wiring.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including Arc Flash Safety and Confined Space procedures, to maintain a safe working environment.
• Coordinate with project managers and other trades to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed and materials used.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentice electricians and support staff.

Required Qualifications

• 4-8 years of professional electrical experience, with a focus on residential projects.
• Valid California electrical license.
• Proven experience in blueprint reading and the use of advanced test equipment.
• Ability to meet physical demands including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical safety protocols and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Confined Space procedures.
• Demonstrated expertise in conduit bending techniques.
• Extensive experience in managing and executing residential electrical projects.

Location & Schedule

• Primary work location: Santa Clarita, CA.
• Neighboring cities: Valencia, Newhall, Saugus, Canyon Country, and Castaic.
• Full-time position with a standard workweek schedule, with potential for overtime based on project needs.
