Position Overview at High Point Networks
As a Cable Technician at High Point Networks, you will play a vital role in installing and maintaining network infrastructures for educational institutions in Lakewood, CO, and surrounding areas. This position involves working closely with project managers and school IT departments to ensure seamless installation and optimal performance of network systems.
Essential Functions for Cable Technician
- Install, maintain, and repair cable systems, including both copper and fiber optic networks, within educational institutions.
- Conduct site surveys to assess installation needs and plan cable routes.
- Perform cable pulling, termination, testing, and troubleshooting for new and existing installations.
- Collaborate with project teams to align on specifications and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Document installation processes and maintain accurate project records.
- Provide technical support and training to school IT staff as needed.
Required Qualifications for Cable Technician at High Point Networks
- 2-5 years of experience in cable installation and maintenance.
- Required certification: Fiber Optic Certification.
- Proven experience with Cable Management Systems and Wire Mapping Tools.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification: BICSI Technician.
- Experience with Termination Equipment and advanced cable testing tools.
- Specialized experience in educational institution projects.
- Proficiency with tools such as punch-down tools, cable testers, and fusion splicers.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Lakewood, CO.
- Additional locations: Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Golden, and Littleton, CO.
- Schedule: Full-time, with occasional evenings or weekends based on project needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $27.59-$32.88 per hour.
