Residential Electrician at Helix Electric

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Residential Apprentice Electrician at Helix Electric in Chicago, IL. This role requires a fundamental knowledge of electrical theory, residential wiring methods, load calculations, and panel installations. The ideal candidate is skilled in the use of various hand and power tools, and testing equipment. If you have experience in residential rough-in, service upgrades, fixture/device installation, and basic troubleshooting, we would like to meet you. We encourage individuals who are enrolled in or eligible for a state-approved apprenticeship program to apply.

Location

Chicago, IL. Applicants from neighboring cities such as Evanston, Oak Park, Cicero, Berwyn, and Oak Lawn are welcome.

Required Experience

• 1-5 years of experience as a Residential Electrician
• Knowledge of basic electrical theory
• Experience with residential wiring methods (NM cable/Romex)
• Proficiency in load calculations and panel installations
• Familiarity with hand tools (Klein, Knipex), power tools (Milwaukee, DeWalt)
• Proficiency in using digital multimeters (Fluke), and basic test equipment
• Valid Electrical Apprentice License/Trainee Card
• OSHA-10 certification
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Valid drivers license
• Experience with residential rough-in, service upgrades, fixture/device installation, and basic troubleshooting
• Enrolled in or eligible for a state-approved apprenticeship program

Nice to Have

• Experience with service calls
• Familiarity with commercial electric work
• Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams
